Cooperative Coffee

Generation of cooperative knowledge
Co-organized with the Illustrious Bar Association of Barcelona (ICAB)

The Confederation of Cooperatives of Catalonia and the Section of Cooperative Law and Social Economy of the ICAB co-organize a collegial event called “Cafè Cooperatiu” every two months.

The purpose of the Cooperative Café is to disseminate the knowledge and content discussed in each session, to help spread the cooperative model among lawyers who are members of ICAB, the cooperativists and the general public.

The Cooperative Coffee is virtual and consists of two parts: presentations by experts on the subject covered and an exposition of experiences from cooperatives.

Subsequently, the content of these sessions will be published in the form of a monograph that may end up generating a collection.

We analyse the measures of cooperative mediation, conciliation and arbitration and how they fit, and don’t, with the measures of labour legislation.

First Cooperative Coffee

Energy Communities and Cooperatives. 18th March 2022

The climate emergency caused by the intensive use of fossil fuels and the consequent release of large amounts of greenhouse gases requires far-reaching and unprecedented changes. Reflection on the use, management and consumption of energy has opened the door to proposals for an overhaul of the energy model. Citizen initiatives have been directly involved in the energy sector for a long time, long before the European regulations on energy communities appeared. We analyse the regulations that govern these initiatives and how cooperatives represent an opportunity to empower citizens in energy self-management.
