During 2024, up to October 8, 142 new cooperatives have already been created in Catalonia. The strong growth trend in new cooperatives over the last decade continues.

Most Catalan cooperatives are located in Barcelona province (69% of cooperatives), followed by Tarragona (13%), Lleida (11%), and Girona (7%).

81.3% of the population in Catalonia believes cooperativism should have a greater weight in the economy.

Almost half of the Catalan population (45.5%) is or has been a member or customer of a cooperative, with a positive experience of the model.

6.1% of the population are or have been part of a cooperative and report a very positive experience.
6.8% of the population have been part of a cooperative but are no longer members, and their experience has been good.
32.6% have never been cooperative members but are satisfied customers with the model it offers.
