Economy for Life Pact

The social, economic and health consequences of COVID-19 reveal the fragility of a global economic model that prioritizes private accumulation of wealth over human life and the planet. This also calls into question many unsustainable socio-economic policies that does not benefit the majority. 

It is necessary to build and advocate for a New Economic Model based on a Plural and Transformative Economy. This economy should aim at equitably meeting the economic, social and cultural needs of the Catalonia as a whole and to guarantee access to goods and services that are necessary for a decent life. We need to reorient ourselves and the economic system towards an Economy for Life. 

• A new Productive Model based on sovereignty, democratization, relocation, mutualization, redistribution of wealth and an eco-social transition of economic activities.
• A new Reproductive Model that universally guarantees and democratizes carework.
• A new ecological model that promotes sustainable agricultural activity, the energy transition, sustainable mobility, etc. 

With the aim of making this New Economic Model a reality, CoopCat joined the Economy for Life Pact.
